English Paper Piecing Funday

Come along and learn the basics of English Paper Piecing and have fun playing with and learning all about the possibilities of covering paper shapes with fabric and stitching them together by hand. Suitable for TOTAL BEGINNERS or experienced quilters who want to have a funned informative play day.

There are endless shapes available and so many different ways to make English Paper Pieced patchwork. There are many commercially cut papers and templates, glues pens and fusible inserts. Learn about what they all do and why you may or may not use them. We will be showing examples of products by Sue Daley, Sewline, Roxannes, Hugs & Kisses and more 

We will have loads of shapes to choose from for you to make up your own design. We will talk about what you can do when you’ve stitched together a shape. How do you turn it into quilt, cushion bag, embellishment for clothes or something totally different….

There will be lots of show and tell, inspirational books, products and patterns. The teacher shop owner Sharon Thomson will discuss how she made her first full sized quilt ever using the epp technique over shapes she made up and prepared from graph paper as she went along. We will talk about the history of epp and where it’s heading now for modern makers. 

Your class cost is $55 but each participant will receive a $20 voucher to redeem on EPP supplies on the day ..making the cost only $35 really!
