COVID 19 DETAILS:  At the time of making this listing, it is a requirement to wear masks during the workshop and be physically distanced in class. We also require all participants in class to be double or triple vaccinated. We will be checking this status before class starts so make sure you have it with you. 

ABOUT CLASS: We are thrilled to offer a day with the very much in demand and always inspiring Wendy Williams on Friday the 1st of April.  Wendy has taught all around the country and overseas and everyone loves the happy colourful creations made with the embellished wool felt appliqué that is her signature style. 

You’ll be familiar with Wendy’s exciting and enchanting wool felt quilts and projects from her social media (search for her on instagram and facebook) as well as her beautiful book Wild Blooms and Colourful Creatures and from her award winning quilts often appearing at the Sydney Quilt Show. Wendy is a popular teacher who makes fantastic projects suitable for those with little or no prior experience of stitching. 

In this class, Wendy will outline her approach to wool felt applique and stitch embellishment. Wendy will begin the day taking the class through how to make the layered flowers that adorn many of her projects and she’ll show you how to get started on one of her happy new fish projects. She will dazzle you with the options for shapes possible and styles of embellishment. You’ll learn all about the materials, techniques and equipment that Wendy uses to make her projects. 

You could relax and make flowers or fish for the whole day, perhaps choosing to use them on a cushion like the Red Centre Cushions, Twilight Cushion or the Flying Fish Cushions pictured below. Or you could also choose to make a start on one of Wendy’s more involved projects that feature the embroidered flowers like the Twilight Quilt , Birdsville Quilt or the new Flowering Snowball quilt for 2022 or the popular Pretty Little Pots Quilt at the end of the listing.
