Opal Essence Variations

Come and spend a weekend with Lorena Uriarte. This class is designed around her Opal Essence templates. Opal Essence is a beautiful quilt which lends itself to being made in many different colour schemes for different effects. The individual templates shapes are also very flexible and can be made into a number of different designs. 

In this class you can work through the various ideas such as Under The Sea or Swirly Gig, pictured below. Learning some fussy cutting methods to make the quilt your own, learn Y seams, the method of construction needed to join the large diamond shapes together. You could also work on the original Opal Essence if you like or finish it if you had begun it once before. 

Lorena is an award winning quilter and pattern designer known for her original designs and clever techniques, she specialises in finding a number of ways to employ one technique and to push it as far as it can go often employing fabric in clever or unexpected ways. In class, Lorena give you tools to explore your own creativity. 

She teaches regularly in Sydney and has been invited to teach, interstate and internationally. Lorena regularly exhibited her work overseas at QUILTCON, The Modern Quilt Guild show in the USA.
