Packed with Charm

We ran this class earlier in the year and it was so popular that we’ve decided to run it again. It seems that in these unpredictable times a small project completed in a day with a bit of guidance and company is just what you’re looking for.  Berry Quilt & Co. staff member Carol Culey has had a year of making colourful cushions to match her quilts using leftovers. They always turn out so well so we turned it into a class and now you have a chance to have some fun too! 

Carol has invented this ‘Packed with Charm’ cushion design that is satisfying to make, reinforces all your patchwork and quilting skills (or helped teach you these skills). The cushions finish up super quickly, helping you use up project scraps or bust your stash in the process. 

You will learn how to measure up and construct an envelope-back cushion and how to insert a border ‘peeper’ detail. Envelope backs are a clever design, not requiring a zip, which is transferrable to any size cushion. So the class will equip you to make anything from a tiny pincushion to a big bolster. 

The class is suitable for experienced sewists who would like a fun day making some new things. We also encourage beginners who have some sewing skills and an ability to use their own sewing machine to join us and get some inspiration and new skills making an achievable and endlessly repeatable project. The cushions will be perfect for your own home or to build up a stack of gifts well before Xmas!
