Perfect Blocks with Lynne

With a modern approach to colour and design and a flair for combining fabrics, Lynne creates patterns for eye-catching, scrappy projects. Customers constantly request more classes with Lynne because of her broad experience and relaxed teaching style that accommodates all skill levels. In this class, make one of Lynne’s amazingly effective and deceptively simple quilts or try out a number of her blocks. If you make a pattern of hers, I’m sure you will become a convert. 

Two days allows you to really get into making a particular quilt or allows lots of time to try a range of different blocks or techniques with Lynne. If making a whole quilt: Day One will be taken up with fabric choice, layout and cutting and Day Two will be the piecing and construction tips. If you just want to try a number of blocks that’s fine too. 

On offer over the weekend are: Perfect Pineapples blocks from one of Lynne’s newest patterns or make a perfect Stargazing block to turn into a pillow or quilt, or an Origami Block. You could concentrate on making multiples of a single block for a quilt OR  forge ahead and try one of each. All of these blocks are pictured below. 

Lynnes SUPER NEW quilt ‘Dancing Windmills’, hot off the presses, is another  newly announced option to try as a block or whole quilt. Again this quilt is pictured below.  

The quilts on offer are Gridlocked or Crossroads. (Scroll down for Pictures) These two take a bit of layout planning and will take up your two days so take the opportunity to get the quilt cut out and lay to out on one of our fabulous design walls and get Lynne’s feedback on how best to lay it out and get your final construction happening. 

Lynne is a little flexible so if you have had your eye on making something different from her list of designs or prefer a single day let us know and we will enquire with Lynne. 

As a teacher, Lynne has a broad range of experience and tales to tell about the quilting world. She has worked in the quilting industry for many years, having owned two successful quilt shops. She currently runs a wholesale business with her husband Peter, is the distributor for the popular ByAnnie bag making range, has designed a range of best selling patterns, is a sought-after teacher and visits Houston Quilt Market twice a year to show her designs and sell her patterns into the US. (Except for this latest Covid disrupted year!)

Your pattern price will be included in the workshop and a 20% discount will apply to all of Lynne’s fabulous patterns on the day, a good chance to stock up!! 

COVID 19 DETAILS: Places are VERY limited due to social distancing. We have organised our classroom so that everyone has a 1.5m space and is not sitting all day directly across from anyone else. We will encourage anyone experiencing cold or flu symptoms not to come and will offer a store credit if they can not attend at the last minute. We will encourage participants to bring all of their own equipment, including irons so that there is less sharing but it is up to you to assess your personal comfort zone in this situation. We will do what we can to be sensible and provide a cleaned space but we can obviously NOT guarantee 100% risk free environment.
